Accessibility statement

Our commitment

This website is run by The Calico Group.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. This includes people who may be accessing support, feeling under pressure, or needing clear information quickly.

Our aim is simple: make information easy to find, easy to understand and easy to use.

We know some people visit this website in urgent or difficult situations. Our approach is to reduce barriers so people can get the information and support they need without added stress.

We design and maintain our websites so that people can:

  • change colours, contrast levels and text size
  • zoom in without losing content
  • navigate using a keyboard
  • use screen readers and other assistive technologies

How accessible this website is

We also aim to keep our content clear, respectful and easy to understand.

How accessible this website is

We want this website to be accessible to as many people as possible.

We are working towards meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard and regularly review accessibility across the website.

Most areas of the website can be used without difficulty. However, we recognise that some content and features may not yet fully meet accessibility requirements.

Accessibility is an ongoing process. We carry out regular accessibility checks, monitor feedback from users and work with our website partners to identify and address barriers as they are found.

Where issues are identified, they are recorded, reviewed and prioritised as part of our ongoing improvement programme.

What may not be fully accessible

We are open about areas where accessibility can be improved.

Examples may include:

  • some older PDF documents
  • some documents created by third parties
  • some embedded or third party content
  • occasional issues that have not yet been identified or resolved

We are continually reviewing these areas and working to improve them where possible.

Where content is not fully accessible, we will try to provide an alternative format or route to access the information.

Requesting information in an alternative format

If you need information from this website in a different format, please contact us.

For example, you may request:

  • large print
  • easy read
  • audio format
  • accessible PDF
  • another suitable format

Tell us what works best for you, and we will do our best to provide the information in a way that meets your needs.

If you encounter an accessibility issue on this website, please let us know.

When contacting us, it is helpful to include:

  • the page where the issue appears
  • a description of the problem
  • any technology or assistive tools you were using

Your feedback helps us improve the website for everyone.

If you are not satisfied with our response

If you are not happy with how we respond to an accessibility concern, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS), which provides advice and support on accessibility and discrimination matters.

Technical information

The Calico Group is committed to improving the accessibility of its websites and digital services.

We aim to design, manage and develop our websites in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.

Accessibility is reviewed regularly through a combination of automated monitoring, manual checks, supplier reviews and feedback from people using the website.

We maintain a record of known accessibility issues and review progress on a regular basis. Where issues are identified, we work to address them as part of our ongoing programme of improvement.

Because websites are regularly updated and accessibility standards continue to evolve, accessibility should be viewed as a continual process of improvement rather than a one-time exercise.

How we are improving accessibility

Accessibility is reviewed on an ongoing basis.

We regularly:

  • monitor the website for accessibility issues
  • review accessibility reports and recommendations
  • fix identified issues where possible
  • improve document formats and content design
  • simplify language and navigation
  • test changes before publishing where practical
  • use feedback from website users to shape improvements

We maintain an accessibility improvement log and review progress regularly to help ensure accessibility remains part of our ongoing digital standards.
